Just as a heads up, this is a known sockpuppet – LuniZunie ツ(talk) 02:47, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- Awkward! Thanks. :) win8x (talk) 03:53, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Win8x Haha, I made the same mistake. – LuniZunie ツ(talk) 03:55, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- Worst part is, I looked at all their edits and saw them edit a globally locked account's page. Who does that other than a sock!? Oh well win8x (talk) 03:58, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

Why did you give the autobiography warning to this editor? 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 04:09, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @45dogs, because they created User:Adv Saneesh Sadasivan. I either give this one or the welcome-autobio template when I come across them in recent changes. win8x (talk) 04:11, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Win8x, this might sound harsh, but please read the template you gave them, and consider what userpages are for. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 04:12, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @45dogs, eh, maybe it's a bit harsh, but I don't think the template is very mean. It doesn't threaten in any way. The user page uses third-person pronouns, which also tell me that this isn't a user page personal presentation, it's an autobiography. Securing the death penalty for someone has nothing to do with user pages. win8x (talk) 04:15, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- I meant if my comment sounded harsh. Subsequent developments indicate they are writing an autobiography. I would recommend you get draftify to draft their contributions. Otherwise the template doesn't make sense, since userpages are neither articles or drafts. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) 04:18, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- @45dogs, ah, I see what you mean, that the template doesn't make sense. I could draftify, but I don't think that's useful, it's a waste of time. I could make a custom template, that would be fun.
- Anyway, thanks for the input. You weren't harsh :) win8x (talk) 04:24, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

AfC review
Thanks for going over the L.W. Packard article. I just wanted to say I think your two-sided edit war accusation was a bit hasty; a lot of the edits I made were directly in response to feedback from the COI account and on the talk page I made an effort to discuss every change. I tried soliciting their feedback repeatedly, and I already had brought the COI account to COIN since this company keeps trying and he wanted his blatantly unacceptable version back. It's not edit warring to judiciously remove promotional content just because one party decides not to respond while edits are ongoing :)
I really tried! ~2025-34825-61 (talk) 06:58, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- @~2025-34825-61, my apologies. My quick skim through the page history showed some back and forth, but looking at it again you are right. I really didn't mean any threat of blocking or reporting, just a suggestion. It's also great that you brought this to COIN. You didn't come close to 3RR, that was always obvious, but if they do add promotional content over and over again, you must be wary of 3RR. The only exception is clear vandalism. Have a good one, you did great work mitigating the promotional content over there. win8x (talk) 20:33, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
NPPHOUR
Hi there! I noticed your page move of Draft:Fiana two minutes after it was created. Please be more cautious and aware of WP:NPPHOUR. I understand wanting mainspace free of unsourced articles, however I don't believe the draft had serious enough content problems to warrant such a quick move. Thanks for your patrolling efforts. // hekatlys [talk] 16:52, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
- Got it. Apologies! win8x (talk) 16:53, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
Le film "Zero Day" est sortie en 2002 pas 2003
ZeroDayArchive (talk) 01:31, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
- @ZeroDayArchive, right, that's your source. Mention it in your edit summary, say something like "Per MOS:FILMLEAD, changing this to 2002 because it was presented at a film festival", you could make the changes. It seems some sources say 2003 because it was the theatrical release. Remember to use edit summaries! win8x (talk) 01:39, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

Are there any fonts that are like Times New Roman or any of those similarly looking fonts? I imagine Wikipedia as just being an inhumanely long book with articles about basically everything and I would like suggestions to fonts that resemble the font already used for the titles on pages. Could you give me those? If not is completely understandable as looking for fonts is not your job.
Thanks, Erikgobrrr (talk) 02:40, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hey there, @Erikgobrrr. The font used on the titles is Linux Libertine. (For my skin, Timeless, it's Nimbus Roman No9 L). I tried applying both of them to my css, without success. I'm sure there's a way to use them, but I don't know them.
- The way I provided at the Help Desk only picks from the fonts installed on your system. Every system ever will have Times New Roman, so you can use that as a similar alternative. I tested that one, and it does work. win8x (talk) 15:07, 26 December 2025 (UTC)
- Many thanks!
