BPD

Hey I see your doing some significant work on the BPD page, which is great to see, it definitely needs some work. I thought I would just reach out directly here instead of the articles talk page because the talk page does tend to get quite cluttered. I just wanted to give some feedback on your recent edits as I'm assuming that based on the rework you did, you're looking to improve the page more in the future.

There is some overly technical wording in some of your recent additions, the audience for such a well known mental ilness is going to be mostly laypeople so I think phrases such as emotional granularity, negative affect, non-acceptance of emotional responses, emotional clarity, and adaptive coping strategies may be overly technical. Even as someone who has studied this topic area extensively I still feel like this wording requires me to brush up on my terminology. Some of these terms may benefit from being glossed. I don't know how much you've edited in Med and psych areas but the best practice for this is to expain the term in simple words then put the technical term in brackets (see WP:MTAU). for example:

the tendency to experience negative emotions (negative affectivity) and so forth.

The other thing I noticed is that you're using a lot of older sources. This isn't as big of a deal as the text you replaced also used older sources but especially with med/psych it's helpful to aim to use the most recent reliable sources so that they don't have to be updated/replaced as often. If you don't have access to newer sources I'd be more than happy to download some pretty comprehensive recent ones and send you pdfs through email as I know getting access to recent sources can be tricky.

I hope this didn't come off as overly critical, I'm honestly just happy to see someone devoting some time to this particular article since it does need some love. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 03:54, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

IntentionallyDense, hey, thank you for the feedback. I was precisely wondering, not too long ago, how I could rephrase some of the more technical terms and I will be doing some copyedits in that direction soon. Regarding the sources, my main focus was more about replacing the content, but I will definitely look for more recent papers; that's also why I put the template, so users know it's not final. Many thanks, The Blue Rider 04:57, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's 9th Edit-a-thon

Hello The Blue Rider:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

GA2 review of Daniela Lalita [Women in Green | Good Article Edit-a-thon]

Hi The Blue Rider and thanks for your GA review of the article Daniela Lalita. Your comments were very helpful in improving it. Since then, I have thoroughly checked all statements in the text against the sources, added new sources, and removed older, less reliable ones. I have implemented all the specific suggestions for improvement. The proofreading by WP:GUILD is now complete, and the resulting shortening should make the article more readable. You suggested to ping you to have a second look. Thank you if you have the time. wwwWiki 04:07, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the ping. I will absolutely have a second look! The Blue Rider 10:16, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi The Blue Rider, I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to politely check in and ask whether you might have time to continue the GAN review for Daniela Lalita. If you don't have the capacity, that's completely fine. In that case I may look for another reviewer to take over the review. Thank you very much for the feedback you've already provided! wwwWiki 19:39, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will continue the review tomorrow, thank you for your patience. The Blue Rider 21:25, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Daniela Melchior

On 7 December 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Daniela Melchior, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Daniela Melchior (pictured) once did a chemistry screen test with fancy rats? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Daniela Melchior. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Daniela Melchior), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Women in Green reviewing drive

Hello The Blue Rider:

This month, February 2026, WikiProject Women in Green is participating in the February 2026 GAN Backlog Drive, in which we're aiming to review as many outstanding Good Article (GA) nominations about women and women's works as possible. If you want to help out, you can check out the project talk page for a list of nominations in need of review (including some WiG originals). If you haven't reviewed a GA nomination before, be sure to check out the reviewing instructions and guidelines and feel free to ask for a mentor to check your work.

We are also working together with a wikithon hosted on 5 February by Wikimedia UK, which will focus on writing and improving articles about women involved in sustainable development. If you want to join the event, feel free to sign up at the eventbrite page; or if you would be interested in providing a 20-minute assessment and/or a full GA review of the submitted articles in the weeks following, put your name down on the project talk page for updates as the event progresses.

We hope to see you there!
