Add info on mobile page history

I was trying to find out how to see the mobile page history from an iPhone but so far I haven’t found a way. It would be great if this info is added to this help article.Thinker78 (talk) 16:39, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Select "Use desktop site" in your browser. Cranloa12n / talk / contribs / 19:13, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I do not use Safari as my browser, previously it was Chrome, now it is Firefox. This option is not available for my on Firefox. Can this issue be elevated to the UX team? This seems like a bug not to be able to have the history available to users on mobile. Altonbr (talk) 05:03, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I came here also trying to figure out why the page history link disappeared from the mobile site. I tested on Android with Firefox and Opera. Cheesycow5 (talk) 20:28, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see now that page history is only missing if logged out. Cheesycow5 (talk) 20:41, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a "Mobile version" section.[1] Click "Last edited" near the bottom. PrimeHunter (talk) 02:05, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can we change the example page of showing page history at the top of the page to “Board game”, instead of it being “Cat”? 2601:C6:D200:E9B0:8C6B:3BC6:AF4F:665 (talk) 20:25, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also make sure to upload a new version of the image. 2601:C6:D200:E9B0:8C6B:3BC6:AF4F:665 (talk) 20:27, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why would that be better? Tollens (talk) 20:56, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to change the page shown in the image, nothing much besides that. 2601:C6:D200:E9B0:8C6B:3BC6:AF4F:665 (talk) 20:59, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: No reason to do so according to @Tollens. TheNuggeteer (talk) 10:56, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I never said nor intended to imply that. Tollens (talk) 21:20, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I removed the part where I said that. TheNuggeteer (talk) 07:10, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Changing example of showing page history

A revert was recently made and is there a way to resolve this? I think it’s dumb to use the page as an example in that page, so can we make the change? 2601:C6:D200:E9B0:81A3:2C7E:31BA:AAB4 (talk) 17:26, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Change Jonathan to Jono. All of the newspaper sources cited are wrong, Jono is his legal name, it is not and hasn’t been Jonathan. Here is a link to a New York Times review of Jono McLeod’s debut film where he is correctly named.

From the Sundance Film Festival website.

Another New York Times article naming Jono correctly:

IP editors

Does Wikipedia now mask IP address editors? In page histories it seems there was a recent change where IP editors are now automatically assigned a timestamp-based username, but I am not sure when this change was made or if there was any announcement for it. This help page will have to be updated because it mentions IP addresses throughout. - Indefensible (talk) 04:21, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Indefensible: Yes, Wikipedia does now mask IP addresses, and I have made some updates to the help page to mention this and to link to Wikipedia:Temporary accounts. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:41, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. This could have been better announced, there are probably other pages which need to be updated now. - Indefensible (talk) 16:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
