Lurker is a 2025 American drama film written and directed by Alex Russell and starring Théodore Pellerin and Archie Madekwe.
Premise
A retail worker befriends the inner circle of an up-and-coming pop star.[1]

In March 2024, it was announced that Pellerin, Madekwe and several other actors were cast in the film.[2]
Release
The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2025[3] and will be first screened in February in Europe at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival in the section Berlinale Special Gala, where it will also be in competition for the Teddy Award.[4]
In February 2025, Mubi acquired distribution rights to the film.[5] Later that month, Focus Features acquired international distribution rights.[6]
Reception
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 94% of 18 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.6/10. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 75 out of 100, based on 7 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.
